Christmas in the Park and Lighting of the Town.
Blowing Rock, a “Norman Rockwell-esque” small town, keeps the Christmas season alive and well. Enjoy live music, caroling, hot chocolate, cider, hayrides, Santa sighting, and the lighting of both the Town Tree and Memorial Park. And after the Christmas Parade, stop by BRMC for a members and friends reception complete with hot cider and warm food.
Festival of Lights at Chetola Resort
A holiday tradition in Blowing Rock, Chetola’s Festival of Lights features a dazzling display of illuminations, attracting thousands of visitors each year. Take time to drive around Chetola Lake and experience the glittering ice skaters, a nativity scene, Rudolph catching fish in Chetola lake, and more.
Festival of Trees
Join us at Chetola Lodge in the Appalachian/Blue Ridge Room to enjoy uniquely decorated holiday trees, wreaths, and gift baskets displayed in a festive holiday setting. A large variety of themed trees and wreaths will be up for bid during this three-day event. Some possible themes include Holiday Movies, Pets, Photography, Winter Sports, and many more. All proceeds will benefit the Western Youth Network , providing young men and women with the tools they need to succeed.
Blue Ridge Mountain Club wants to build community, not only within BRMC, but also in Blowing Rock, Boone, and the surrounding High Country. We are currently partnering with the Hospitality House of Boone, a non-profit agency helping those living in crisis, poverty, and homelessness, to rebuild their lives. Join us by making a donation, and as we decorate the Hospitality House for Christmas.
